Insurance for planned treatment in China

Check international cover and pre-authorization before booking hospital care abroad.

Ask your insurer before booking

Ask whether planned treatment in China, your chosen hospital and proposed procedure are covered. Obtain written pre-authorization if required, including exclusions, deductible, limits and validity dates. A hospital estimate or appointment confirmation is not insurance approval.

Direct billing or reimbursement

Confirm with both insurer and hospital whether direct billing is accepted and whether a guarantee of payment is required. Otherwise you may need to pay the hospital first and claim reimbursement. Ask how deposits and uncovered costs are handled.

Documents to request

Hospitals can be asked for a treatment estimate, diagnosis and procedure details, itemised invoices, payment receipts, test reports and a discharge summary. Confirm what the specific hospital can issue, its language, timing, and any translation or document charges; compare this with the insurer’s checklist.

Travel insurance has limits

Ordinary travel cover may exclude planned treatment abroad, pre-existing conditions and related complications. Ask specifically about evacuation, trip changes and a companion’s expenses. Sino RX does not sell insurance or decide coverage; confirm policy wording with the insurer.

Consultation is free. Sino RX is an independent facilitator. Our separate coordination fee is paid to Sino RX according to a written quote; hospital fees are paid directly to the hospital.

Frequently asked questions

Does pre-authorization guarantee every bill is covered?

No. Coverage remains subject to policy terms and the insurer’s final assessment. Ask for written confirmation of approved care and limits.

Does Sino RX sell insurance?

No. Obtain coverage advice and policy documents directly from an insurer or an authorized insurance adviser.

Can you help with paperwork?

We can coordinate document requests within the agreed scope. The hospital issues medical records and invoices; the insurer decides the claim.
